The Maxi Foods Group was founded by Brendan Blake in 1999 opening the store in Castlemaine as Maxi IGA.

Since then Maxi Foods has provided a full grocery service to customers of Ballarat and Castlemaine and a boutique gourmet grocer, Blake Family Grocers in Daylesford.
